The fundamental focus of my practice is simple, yet one of the most troublesome to conquer without proper guidance: Ineffective (and sometimes non-existent) communication. Regardless of how effectively you or your organization operates, there will always be an inherent conflict somewhere. The most crucial undertaking within any organization is the determination of where these breakdowns in communication occur, the subsequent facilitation of dialogue and, further (the often overlooked step), the commitment to future communication. Eliminating these barriers yields a monumental impact…re-inspiring individuals and creating environments that are positively electric with collaboration and innovation.

It is critical, especially in difficult times like these, that we identify potential problems, and miscommunications, and address “the elephant in the boardroom” that is impeding the progress and efficiency of your organization and life…before the elephant grows too large to handle.

In organizations both effective and ineffective, even one cog out of alignment could be costing a fortune. By taking preventive measures and using an experienced, objective facilitator to open up dialogue, you shift from business as usual and going though the motions to what’s possible…renewed creativity, energy, passion and profitability.

Bridging these gaps in communication is my specialty…breaking down obstacles which hinder productivity step-by-step, and providing people with the tools to overcome conflict and work as a cohesive team is an art at which I excel.

The challenges that most management teams face are significant under normal circumstances. Given the current state of the economy and associated anxiety, it is even more important that teams now face these challenges in a unified manner.

The Delta Diagnostic, a 360 degree review, provides the opportunity for company leaders to examine every aspect of the company and voice their perspectives. Three key areas are assessed: Strategy, Structure and Culture. The perspectives are then compared and analyzed for the degree of variance within the different points of view, uncovering the organization’s perceived strengths and weaknesses (essentially, identifying the “elephant in the boardroom”), and providing a “map” of the company and the basis for the next steps – aligning conversations and strategic planning.

After the assessment, areas that appear to be out of alignment need to be addressed, in an effort to create a stronger, more unified and efficient organization. These conversations are often difficult…through guidance, mediation and candor, productive dialogue is brought about, and the troublesome elephant is put to bed. By putting people at ease and breaking down barriers that prevent shared knowledge, people can see the connections among their collective talents, actions, and missions. Through this, consensus is reached and stronger and more fluid teams are built. When situations are enjoyable and exciting, and people believe in what they are doing, there is a greater commitment to achievement.

What does this mean for your organization? Tough conversations reveal what has been holding you, and your company, back. People have the opportunity to express themselves and be heard, and are ready to move forward in fresh, dynamic ways. When an organization is aligned around a common mission, vision and ideology, it can achieve greater results faster. People working in harmony towards a mission can achieve it in a shorter time, achieve greater profitability and have increased fulfillment.

The ability to organize teams around a common outcome and provide support and continual reinforcement are the hallmarks of good leaders. Once prior breakdowns have been discovered, your team is communicating and in alignment, and everyone understands their roles and responsibilities, it is time to strategize around the identified areas that would benefit from more attention and enhancement. Revitalize a flagging project, team, or organization, and learn how to develop systems and processes to prevent future re-occurrences.

Initiatives are identified, prioritized, and assigned. Measurements for success are put into place. Implementation Strategy is often one of the most difficult items to engineer and execute…as your sounding board, agent of change and guide, I will provide the ongoing support you need to keep the elephant out of your boardroom, continue moving projects in the right direction, achieve your goals, and show you how to discern that you’ve won the game.
